Managing self-doubt is a critical life skill

Self-doubt is often seen as an unavoidable part of life, a pesky inner voice that chips away at our confidence and ambition. But what if I told you that allowing self-doubt to reign unchecked is a choice - one that could be sabotaging your career and personal growth?

The truth is, learning to manage self-doubt is a critical life skill, and one that can unlock your full potential.

The average adult has six moments of self-doubt a day. We’ve been listening to the voice of self-doubt for so long that it feels normal.

Because we think that it is normal to constantly doubt ourselves, we don’t think that there is anything we can do about it.

Which is a problem because...

Self-doubt is destructive when not dealt with.” Tara Mohr

Self-doubt can be one of the most significant obstacles to achieving your career goals. It can prevent you from putting yourself forward for new opportunities, speaking up in various situations, and can lead you to second-guess important decisions.

In addition, steady self-doubt may cause psychological problems such as mood swings, lower self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.

You must learn how to manage your self-doubt.

Knowing how to work effectively with your own self doubt is a basic necessary life skill, an even more basic necessary life skill than driving or cooking yourself a meal.” Tara Mohr

I found that building and maintaining my mental fitness is the most effective and powerful way to work effectively with my own self doubt. This is why I have dedicated my life to working with women whose self-doubt is keeping them from stepping up, leaning in, and speaking out.

You have a choice: you can continue to let the voice of self-doubt in your head sabotage you professionally and personally … or you can decide to learn how to effectively manage your self doubt.
